First time hatching!

Hi,
I am going to attempt and hatch a clutch of magpies this spring! I am going to let the ducks sit them till the hatch, so question I have when they do hatch do I need to put them in a border with heat lamps?? Thanks for your help!!

Magpies? Have you rescued their eggs or taken them?

And, it takes 20 days for a maggy to hatch (aussie magpie).

I have never heard of someone hatching magpies before so I don’t know.

Cute! You said you are planning on hatching them with your ducks - do you possibly have chickens or even an incubator? You can choose whatever, just way out your odds

I only have ducks, and didn’t want to get involved with an encubator.

OK so, when you put them in the brooder, provide heap lamps to mimic their mother's warmth. Also don't provide them chicken and/or duck food, provide things from a magpie's diet, mushed up. Also, water - obviously

wait @TwoCrows, just wondering is this even legal? I mean yeah it's a cool project but I have questions as to its being a good idea.
