Good luck!! I hope those at least hatch for you!The 3 are from my grandpa. And the one maybe is from the store, it's very dark inside so I can't tell
YAY!!! Congrats!! Once they pip it can take up to 24 hours before they zip. (Or it could take 8.) Most of mine seem to average between 12-18. I wouldn't get worried until at least 18 hours, unless it seems the chick is in distress. He pipped in the middle, so he may or more not be in the air cell, but as long as his position is good he should be able to progress fine. Hopefully you'll have good news come morning. You have the humidity up in the bator now, right?
I'd usually say day 23/24. Past day 24 and the chances of having healthy birds with no developmental issues is a lot less. I could never throwout an egg I knew still had a live chick in it, and I eggtopsy my unhatched eggs, but I wouldn't give out hope past that.@AmyLynn2374 I put more water in the bator but don't have any way to tell what the humity is. And my question, I was a little excited while typing so I wasn't very clear lol. This is the only egg that pipped so far. And there's another I can hear and feel moving and there's the store bought egg, it's very dark inside and I can't tell if there's anything in or not, so how long should I wait to throw it out? And the third farm egg, there's something in it, I tried candling but I don't have a good light, I can't tell if there is any movement or not
It can be quite stressfull, but very rewarding when it's a success. If you can, play this around the bator where the chick can hear it. Usually it is a very good motivator in keeping the chick lively. It's especially good for when they start zipping. I play it periodically when I have a pipped chick and repetively while they are zipping.@AmyLynn2374 No chick yet, the pip is the same as last night. And now I don't see any movement in either of the other two eggs. This is a lot more stressful than I'd thought it'd be!
