My 4 girls are 7 weeks old and have been outside full time for a couple of weeks now. The temps have been perfect, day ( mid 70's) and night ( low 50's). They are loving their new coop and run.
The heat is rolling in today and we are expected to reach 94 degrees with feel like temperatures near 100.
I work all day and left this morning at 8:30. I filled both waterers with ice and put two, 2 liter frozen bottles in their run. I have a friend checking on them this afternoon. I gave her a frozen bowl of water and fruit to give them and asked her to water down the run.
They have shade under their coop. I hope they will be ok! Am I being silly worrying about them?

no,don't feel silly.heat is hard on them.i have five fans going.shade on their run and and lots of water.and i still worry.i to work and won't be home until after 6 this evening.by friday it suppose to start cooling down some.i will be glad when Oct.gets here.

Thank you. I heard from my friend and she said there's no panting and they look quite happy eating the frozen fruit. This drastic change in temperature is a killer. Ugh.
