First time incubating and I have a question..maybe more than one.

My wife and I have always bought chicks, but we decided to try hatching a couple after 2 of our hens turned out to be roosters(so much for sexed chicks thanks TS).

So we just did 2 eggs as we don't want to over do it to soon. We had one hatch so far this morning and it looks mostly out of its egg but the angle its in makes me think it stuck, should I move the eggs/chick so it can get out or leave it?

Also how long after its out of the egg should I wait to remove it from the incubator?

yess it looks stuck.

it can be taken out when it's feathers start to get fluffy, probably a few hours

It wont hurt anything? nothing is attached to the shell internally anymore?

Don't touch the chick, leave it alone till it's fluffed up roughly 6 hours then remove it.

if you are worried, pick it up in the shell and move it somewhere better for hatching.

So I ended up assisting the chick. Its leg had gotten stuck under the lattice that turns the eggs preventing it from freeing itself from the egg completely. It seems to be doing fine now, Just waiting on the other egg to hatch(fingers crossed).
