First time incubating Buttons

Quote:
Sorry, I missed this one. Buttons hatched in an incubator normally take about 15 days to hatch, hen-hatched eggs take 16 or so. But they can go as long as 18 days, it's not all that uncommon. So just to be safe, you should stop turning on day 13.

Yes, they are pretty dark-very pretty eggs. I'll try to candle later, see if I can see anything. I've got a Surefire flashlight that's pretty powerful, so just maybe. Thanks a bunch.

Got Buttons!!

5 so far, and oh my goodness, they are so tiny! It's amazing that something so tiny can survive. These are Tuxedo Buttons. I really didn't expect them to hatch, being my first time hatching quail, but now that I've got 5, I want them all to hatch. I mashed up some gamebird/turkey starter, and pulled the 5 that hatched. They're eating and running around in their little brooder--so far, so good. Pics soon...

Well, just the five as of tonight, so here are a couple of pics. They surely are cuties, and so busy. They never sit still.
