First time incubating chicks

She's still alive. I tried putting her in a cup to see if that will help after reading some questions and answers I figured i wasnt the only one experiencing this problem so I'm going to give it a shot .
How long ago did she hatch?
Did she fully absorb the yolk?
Was she the only one that came out like that? Was she stuck before the assist? (It can take longer to stand if they were stuck for an extended period)
It can also just take time for some to get their land legs. I had one take almost 18 hours on my first ever hatch, I was a nervous wreck but this group is so amazingly helpful!

Welcome to BYC! If she has splayed leg, where her legs fall out from under her, you can get a small glass jar that she can fit in, put paper towels in the bottom for a soft surface and then put her in there for a little bit. It's supposed to help right her position into standing and walking correctly.

She hatched yesterday at like noon. The only one that came out like that. I don't think she observed everything.

It almost looks like she has a bad neck or something because she just goes off to the side. She can't hold her self up at all

It is unfortunate that the chick is having troubles. I hatched a couple who never could stand or stay upright at all. I helped one hatch, and it also died. It happens. About all you can do is offer some SaveAChick electrolytes or a little sugar water and see if it can drink if you place it’s beak in the water. Poultry NutriDrench is very good if you have it. But if the chick cannot stay upright, it is probably going to die. It is just one of those things that happens hatching chicks. I never help them out of the shell any more. Some are just too weak or something is wrong.

I was giving her sugar water. Today she woke up barely breathing. Shes about to go. Just like you said. I will never help a chick out again. Will just let them do what they do.

Awe, I'm sorry about your little chick. As has been said, it happens unfortunately. I just finished a hatch from my first incubation experience. I had 3 die after they hatched with no help. I felt terrible and I got on here and was reassured that it's common.
I'm new here also, 4-1-22.
