first time incubating, first set of eggs went in about an hour ago

This was one of my concerns/questions. I have a homemade bator and am preparing for my first hatch (eggs ship today!

), but I didn't make a turner for it. I had planned to turn them by hand. But, will I have problems with maintaining temp/humidity if I do? I've seen people talk of hand turning and of candling their eggs everyday, but no mention of temp drops/adjustments they had to make. Does anyone have any experience with this? I still have time to make a turner today if someone thinks its better to have a turner than to do it by hand.

Good hatching

vibes to all of you!

So all 14 eggs that I had in didnt develop at all. I went and opend them up today. Im so unhappy right now I could cry. They where very dark Black Copper Marans eggs so I couldnt candle them.
On the good side I do have a pip on a egg that is due tomorrow.
Also I would make a egg turner, I have a store bought on and I love it. It will help with the temps and hum. also.
Good Luck...

Day 21, still nothing. The eight grade son of my aide said he heard them cheeping, so that's hopeful! I think I saw one move, and might have heard the chirp too, but not sure.

Still dealing with lots of low temps and humidity probs, so keep those vibes comin'. I'm hanging in there for a late hatch....
