Ok so my Husbands thinking I'm loosing it " why incubate them just scramble them, If Redds NN ( Rooster/Cockerel, what's the difference ) fertile then you will have to raise them since there is no mother, it's too cold out, wait till spring .......etc
I've borrowed an incubator with auto turner and fan from a new friend, set it up, checked the temp and adjusted and re-adjusted since the night of 15th seems it goes high @ night like 106 + NOW it almost steady @ 99.5 ish So I added 14 NN mix eggs, Pointy end down, since only 2 hens are laying and both are getting visits from Redd.
When I put eggs in Temp drops, when I add water Temp drops, when I candle them in a week or so Temp will drop.

1..) Does temp dropping hurt developing eggs ?

Redd our NN boy

Incubating is so much fun! :)

The temperature will drop whenever you open the lid. It won't hurt the eggs at all - as long as it does come back up. Hens go off the nest to eat and scratch around, so a quick drop won't hurt your eggs.

The bigger concern would be the spikes up to 106.

Best of luck!

the temp spikes down, stays around 100 now first 24 hrs this PM, Not lifting lid to add water, using Lg aquarium bubbler tube put through safe hole in lid, add water with funnel.
