I don’t have any really good pics. The incubator had a glare. They are under the heat plate in the brooder resting and keeping warm, so I stuck my phone under there and took a couple. They are cute. Two yellow and two black fluff balls. If you have some time soon maybe you can post some baby chick pictures.![]()
Thanks for the reply and information. However, I didn’t post any pictures of my eggs. You should calibrate the hygrometer for edification. By the size of the air cells you drew with pencil I can't believe the humidity was 50% RH during incubation.
The incubator and your system seems to work but for your own knowledge of actual RH you can salt test a cheap hygrometer then put it in the incubator to calibrate the unit. I think actual humidity is much lower than its reporting.
What day are they on? If you candle look for movement some can take longer to hatch but if you're unsure I would leave them in another day or two.How long should I wait for these last two eggs to hatch? There are no pips. Can they be candled? What should I look for if candled at this stage?
The white egg, I candled both ends and took pics. The brown egg was harder to see, so only took pic of what I could see. I didn’t see any movement in either egg. This would be day 22What day are they on? If you candle look for movement some can take longer to hatch but if you're unsure I would leave them in another day or two.
Yes, I can see a tiny bit of veining on the white one, but not a lot. The brown one is just difficult to see. These were probably the two that gave me pause when I candled right before lockdown. I should have marked them, more lessons learned for next time. From what I can tell from those pics looks like they quite a while back. The egg should be full/dark to air cell at day 22 and I can't see any veining that would say they are still alive. Can you see any veining?
