First Time Incubating. *Pics*

Thanks! I haven't checked out any of the hatcha long threads yet. Sounds like fun though

So if he takes them and puts them in a carton in a cool room and leaves them alone until I get home that will be fine? What if it is slightly more than 24 hours? I will do the candeling when I get home.

I have also heard that it might be a good idea to not turn them for the first two days after setting them. Any thoughts?

Many people recommend not turning them for the first several days. I think this is a judgement call you will have to make after seeing the aircells. Most likely waiting until you are home is fine also. It all depends on the freshness of the eggs that were sent to you.

Right at the eggs it is holding 99.4-99.7, I have it set to heat up to 100 and shut off then it cools down to 99 and them turns back on. the fan is also contected to the controller and only runs when the light is on. It runs for about 45 sec and is off for about 1:30 so it is working pretty good so far. I have had to add a tbl spoon of water every other day to keep the humidity above 20% I try to keep it in the 30-35% range. I will know in 2 weeks it it is working...LOL

See that dark spot in the egg :D it kept moving while I took this picture, this was taken on the tenth day I think.....Its now the 14th and I can't candle them cause the bulb blowed in my candler and I have zero small flashlights :( buuuut I'm headed to Wal-Mart today for another lol

Candled eggs today. 7 duck eggs still looking good. The 5 big eggs look infertile. Of the 17 bantam eggs, 10 have veining, 4 are questionable, 3 look infertile. Will check again Friday, which will be day 10 for the chicks.
