This is my first time incubating eggs- 14 silkies that I got from a friend. When and How do I candle them? I don't want to wait 21 days and find out I have duds on my hands. They've been in the bator since Tuesday and in the meantime my Polish laid several, so I put them in also for a total of 18 eggs in there now.

Can someone advise me? Thanks!

Hi, New to hatching myself, but, from what I have learned here around day seven is a good time to candle. Hopefully the pros will get on here and tell you more. Good luck with your hatch. My first hatch went bad, just set some Delaware eggs last night, hope I do better with them.

Hi, it would probably take alot of pages to give you alot of info. Or you can go to the home page and go to the learning center. This website has alot of information. Good luck! Karen

Yes, do a search for topics that you are seeking information on. A note though, be careful at continually adding eggs, the humidity requirements at the end are different so you don't want to short change your late hatchers.
