I have noticed they will get off for a little bit when it's warm enough to grab a bit and a drink then back on they go so dont mess with the nest unless she abandons it

Yeah I haven't touched it so I'm not even sure what she's sitting on lol she has abandoned it twice in the past week but I think that was because the egg had broken so I just removed the shell and put more clean hay in ;-)

If it were me I would let nature take its course and just see what happens and take a chance others would intervene. That is a call you have to make but as long as she is on the nest most of the time and when it's cooler I'd let her be.

Well 10 out in the brooder and two in the box so hope there comes more but I'm glad that this many survived!!

I snuck a little peek when she weren't looking and she's been sitting on nothing ;-( poor girl I don't know what she's doing!

Update on baby chicks!
Well I'm pleased to report all 8 chicks are doing well They are eating heaps and drinking and are very vocal lol my next mission is building a outdoor box for them, I'm really loving my new farm life!

I'm sorry to here she has an empty nest but the ones you have looking great all 12 are out and the one stuck was walking around looking like an armored turtle so she is out and have removed as much shell as I could. The rest are active !! And getting loud lol sounds vantastic!!

Yeah that's true and I can't wait to introduce her to her babies Well done you did good getting that many, they will keep you busy that's for sure I'm feeling it with just the 8 lol they eat so much but its good watching them. Good luck hun and enjoy!
