First Time Litter

It's been a long time since we raised rabbits but ours pretty much did all the work themselves. We kept the male in a separate hutch from the female and her babies and let them out in the yard (fenced and as rabbit proof as we could make it - the female had tunnels dug from our yard to our neighbors on either side of us though) for playtime together. We kept straw in the nest box for bedding and changed it as needed. In cold weather we used a heat lamp in the nest box and covered the hutch with an old quilt to block out cold air.

For the most part we just kept them fed, watered and clean and once the babies eyes were open and they were moving around we handled and played with them alot so they were used to people. Our house was the most popular among the other kids in the neighborhood so the bunnies got alot of socializing. So much fun and so cute!!

You shouldnt need to do much at all I do a daily check of the box to check that every ones alive . Their eyes will open around 10-14 days & I start watching them for nestbox eye then . Remove the box some where between 2-3 weeks & that's pretty much it until it's time to wean ( well other than getting them out to play & socialize ) . Congrats on your first litters ! :)
