First time owner of 6 chicks (3 RIR, 2 BA and 1 leghorn). As a child was raised with a lot of chicks - my grandma was a whisperer. She could talk to her chicken and they would listen to her (no I am not making this up). Never owned any on my own till I recently moved to California and my kids insisted we get some. Built a coop myself over 3 weekends because the ones in the store were so small i thoughts that animal abuse to keep them there. Brought 6 as babies thinking some may die but have been lucky and all survived and are almost 2 months old now. In that phase now where it’s that excitement - is it a boy, it it a girl !!!
