First time quail mommy, nervous about hatch....

Well, my DH is one of the 50% that takes the turner out lol...so, happy medium, they went into sterile trays and the turner itself has been removed.

Upped the humidity. Its at 78% right now.

When i went to transfer the eggs, some of them bounced like mexican jumping beans! Oh so cool lol

Lockdown, i suppose.... Patience is not one of my best traits.....

I'm doing the same thing on the batch of eggs I have now. They were tied up in the mail so long I don't know if any of them are good. But my incubator is a pain to clean all the nasty out of. So I'm going to transfer them to trays in a hatcher.

Yeah, my DH was wanting the whole contraption out lol, but I kept reading the pris and cons... Advice .... I read about using cartons for hatch so I thought,"I have extra trays, I'll use those." ... Guess it wasn't that brilliant or anything ha-ha, but um comfortable with it, so as long as they're good, I'm good

Do you have a special "cocktail" for cleaning the incubator? I was thinking bleach then baking soda or something not chemical... It's Styrofoam, I haven't a clue how to clean Styrofoam...

In the Styrofoam I'd use Spitfire, soak, more Spitfire, scrub with tooth brush, hose it out, & about 1-2% bleach rinse.

The plastic one I'd probably use about 10% bleach. I scrub it faster & I don't have to be as careful with it.

So far so good; one loojs like a wing is caught ib the crack; if it doesnt get out, i can maybe quick pop the top off for him? (When i move thevdry bunch, that is)Hard to resist helping...

Yes then you can touch. I wouldn't let the stuck one go much over 3 hours before helping it if it can't get out by then.

I did help out the one stuck in its shell; its feet are bent funny, so i hope it grows out of it...

18 eggs left, not much activity going on...

Ill wait 24 hours, and if no more pop, then start looking to make sure thesexlastceggs were viable? I didnt candle; they were just too small and i was too paranoid id drop one.

Either way, ivam SO doing this again. Amazing!
