Think I'm doing okay! Just worried I'm not missing anything, I have pictures of them on here, we had to do a makeshift kennel of sorts for now, in believe they are 6 weeks still feel they are too young for the outside as well as finishing coop! I enjoy them so much my Rooster (Brewster) already hops up in my lap. Trying to have them be more tame. Want to learn more about free ranging and keeping them more organic so to speak. Please lmk if you have ideas or comments :). Thank you for any help you give!!!

! Happy you joined our flock! Love Marans!! The dark eggs are extra special to me! There are several useful forums for the information you seek. Lots of free ranging links in the forum below. Or just type in free range in the BYC search box and get comfy - there will be LOTS to read! Same with 'organic.' Good luck with your birds and have fun on BYC!

Once they are fully feathered, usually by 6-7 weeks, they are ready to go out. You will have to wean them off a heat source, putting a lamp in one location and food and water separately will encourage them to forage away from the heat (they probably will do this anyway).
