First time raising pullets

I think you are still in the darling stage of cockerels. I would not expect this to work well at all, the ration of 5:4. However no need to fix it till you have trouble, but I would advise, a separate pen set up and ready to go, as I would expect trouble soon.

Generally cockerels mature earlier than pullets, they will harass the pullets pretty hard, sometimes pretty ugly. I think this is more important than your feed issue. I would buy one more bag of chick feed, and the start layer feed.

I already have a chick jail set up. But i wil definitely look into seperating them soon.
