First time turkey owner

I also have brown sugar in my water the first week for quick energy. A teaspoon per quart. Wish I could be more helpful. You sound like your doing everything right. Shipping can be stressful for them.

Thanks old hen for your replies, they have been very helpful.

I am adding vitamins/electrolytes to their water.

I have 9 bourbon reds (2 weeks old) and have been following this thread.

I didn't have anything to add so I just read what you guys said.

I would like to know how you're doing though.

How many made it?

Sorry for the late reply.

I ended up losing 4 chocolates and 1 bourbon red.

The rest are doing great, they are now 5 weeks and I have started letting them out in their big pen during the day.

The only problem I have is that they are so fun to watch I'm not getting anything done:P

Thant's fine.

Sorry about your loss(es).

Mine are 4 weeks old and I am letting them out into a chicken tractor for the day too.

And yes there are addicting.

Also, mine have something weird going on with their feet. It's like how a chicken will peck at a red spot on it's foot and make it bigger and bigger. Except that like half of them have it and I can start to see muscle. I am researching that lots but If I can't figure it out I will make a thread.

Can anyone give me a few links to past threads or articles that might explain this?

Good luck with the rest of yours @MaggieMay'sMom

MW,

I wonder if it is something (weed) in your pasture that they are reacting to?

I hope you figure it out soon.
