I think I may have made a mistake because I added fertilized eggs to the pile of eggs my broody hen was sitting on; each egg was laid about a week apart. I know now that was the wrong thing to do, but I'm wondering if I can remove each egg as it hatches and place it in my brooding box (already set up and used successfully several times for purchased day old chicks). That way the broody hen would still have the remaining eggs to hatch. Anyone have advice?

You can do that, but you have to act FAST!!! Once and egg starts to pip, that normally start her hormone clock ticking from broody to mommy and that is up to 72 hours.

Your broody should sit as long as she has eggs under her. I have one now and have three chicks so far. When she hatches the last one I'll leave it under her to raise.
