First time with meaties. Advice?

Yes, you want BROILER feed. It should be at least 20% protein. Don't worry about starter/grower/finisher for birds that are only around 8 weeks, (although some may disagree on that,) and definitely don't give them layer crumble. The protein content isn't high enough to support the rapid growth they will be doing.

Okay its me again
Yet another question about the meat birds
I still have not got any But I want all of my info before I get into this ..
Do those birds need a roost ? I plan on some type of coop area for protection But do they need a roost?
Seeing they probally wont be alive long enough to live in a elegant coop like my other egg layers , any and all information on this type of bird will be greatly appreciated ,
and I think this place is great ! thank you all , everybody

If you are doing cornish Xs they won't roost, they are too big. Right on the ground is fine. Just make sure that if your ground gets wet in a rain storm, you go out and put straw down for them to get outta the water.
