First time

What does the owner's manual say about that?
I would think it would count down and then start counting up and still heat but don't quote me on that.

Hi fil76,
I personally do not trust "automatic" anything. Mechanical things can and do malfunction even if new.

Cheers back at you Brother

That probably sounds right...but, everything I’ve read on here..and it’s a hot topic..everyone says chicks hatch on day 21...so, I think if you set it for 21 days..that would just mean, everything, the turning off, and hatching will occur that day...but I’ve never done it..I’m just speculating based on a lot of reading because I plan to do it soon!! :)

So the 21 day timer is only a guide for
Me??
Cheers phil
That was a guess. I said don't quote me on that.
I can't imagine an incubator would just shut off automatically but who knows. Did you read the manual?

What incubator are you using? I have used several incubators and none of them shut off automatically, the only thing automatic has been that the automatic egg turner will shut off when there are 3 days left of incubation in SOME of my incubators, most don't even do that. I would hate to tell you without a doubt that yours will keep running because I don't know which incubator you're using but I don't think I've ever heard of one that shuts off if that makes you feel better! Good luck on your hatch!

I am using the Brinsea mini advance
Cheers
