First timer, need hatch day advise! (Video)

This is my first time hatching. It’s been so much fun! So much so that I bought a new batch of eggs and have them in a different incubator already.

The stats:
12 Silkie eggs
12 fertile
5 lost to various incubator issues
7 eggs went into lockdown moving
Dry incubation with humidity 18-24
Humidity during hatching 68-74

So far 6 have pipped, and 2 of those are actively making their way out. This is a nerve wracking, and exciting! I can’t pull myself away.

Two hatching questions I could use help with!

1. The incubator is small, and I have 3 thermometers in there because the temperature varied greatly in different areas. Now the chicks have knocked all but one over. Can I open the incubator to pull the thermometers out?

2. They are really knocking the eggs around. (See video) I want to give them time to dry off, but how soon can I remove the chicks?

3rd chick hatching!

The Paint keeps laying on the air hole of one egg, and that same egg is taking a beating. Hopefully it will be okay. This is probably why I should go do busy work until they’re done hatching.

I really hadn’t either! These guys are lively. 4 more to go, but only 3 have pipped. One that was actively working at it stopped after they knocked its egg around a bunch. Hope it is okay!

how long ago was it that it stopped working at it? by this point you can probably recognize zipping.

With the smaller incu you probably shouldn't open it, but I always take the early hatches out. Some times before they're dry if they're really active.

It's been a couple of hours since I've seen its beak poke through, or any movement. The 3 that have hatched are really active. Unfortunately, that particular egg seems to be taking the brunt. The new chicks have tripped, rolled over, played egg bowling, and laid on that egg. They have great aim. Every time they lay, or lean on/over, any egg it is over the pip spot.

are you able to get a picture of the pip/zip area on the egg you're worried about? I'd like to have a look at it if possible.

I really appreciate your help! This is the best I can get right now without opening it up.
