First timer setting eggs tomorrow, due 5/19 want to hatch with me?

Sorry you're having this trouble! Maybe the damage wasn't as bad as you're thinking. Can't wait to hear about them after you candle.

BoooooHooooooo! Just candled my hatching eggs and I saw several with detached air cells! Whaaaaaaaaaaa

I'll wait another few days before I throw them out to be sure... But that's pretty hard to miss!

From now on I'll know to candle when the eggs arrive!

Ok candled these eggs... the 5/1 batch had 5 blanks, 2 early blood rings, and 2 possible chicks... Not sure if they are still developing so I left the 2 chick ones in the incubator and removed the others.

The 5/2 set had one blank, 2 questionable (they were dark inside but I couldn't see the chick), and 6 chicks developing. I could see some of the little chicks moving inside.. so cute..

So, here's to hoping I haven't killed anyone by candling too much. And everyone keeps developing along!

Day 20: Nothing so far, no rocking or pipping. I'm fluxating between frustrated as all hell and hopeless. Nothing's been steady throughout incubation, despite all my efforts.

Today we've been dealing with low temps and low humidty. I finally had a chance to add warm water, like people were recommending instead of cold water, and temp jumped up to 100.6 (from like 97-98).

I swear if its not one thing, its another! And funneling the water through my aquirum tube is a pain in the you-know-what. Spills, only half goes in, makes a huge mess all over the bator.

Sorry this is so ranty, I'm just so upsett that this hatch is looking bad. I won't get try again for year! I'm this close to saying to hell with it, and letting it drop, and spike as it pleases.

dosent look like they will be ready though. i still see veins, and 1 looks like he's filled his egg and is trying to poke through the air cell.

No I didn't remove them. They are in cartons so the big end was up. When I candled at day 14 there was only one possibly developing. The PO really scrambled that shipment. The shipment I got the next day has 8/9 developing.

With the PO it's a crapshoot.

Tomorrow the silkies go into lockdown in the hatching 'bator.

i have 2 in my bator that hatched today, and more to come.

Day 21, and no change. No pips or peeps or movement. Humidty running lower than I wanted, I've got it up to the 50's now. (I wanted 65). Temp still very low, 97

No signs of life, and I'm starting to feel discouraged. I know with my mow temps they might just be late, but surely we'd see a pip or movement of some sort?

My kiddos were completely bummed when I told them it was looking like we weren't going to get any chicks.

My eggs are at home in my bator and im stuck at school!

i have te web cam on it though so i dont miss it if they hatch ;3;
I just hope they dont.
