Last night I remembered I was supposed to take out the turning ring (but it had stopped turning automatically by itself on schedule, love that digital program stuff!!) and put down a paper towel. So, very carefully, I opened up the 'bator, took out each of the 7 eggs and set them down EXACTLY the same way they had been laying in the
Brinsea...... and I was startled by the sound of a very faint "peep." OMG. OMG. OMG! At least one of them IS alive!!
I don't know which egg(s) did it, but as I put them all back EXACTLY the same way, I heard two more peeps!
AND THIS MORNING THERE IS A PIP!!
As I watch the incubator, I see the water in the reservoir wiggle every now and then, so that must mean there is MOVEMENT, too!
Oh lordy don't let me kill whatever chick(s) are alive in there!
....and although I didn't call in sick today like I wanted to, I DID ask for the day off "for personal reasons" and my supervisor said okay. (I called her about an hour before work.... left a message on her work cell phone.... she called back and granted my request.)
So I'm home all day today - and also Sat & Sun - so I have 3 days to watch and wait and agonize over this incubation/hatching process!
