Congratulations, finally a reward after all the hard work. It might just be me or my birds, but I noticed that when mine started laying, the culprits immediately came out and ate oyster shell that they had no interest in previously.

Thanks everyone! Got another egg today and still haven't caught the layer, haha.

I've had oyster shell in there for awhile and haven't seen anyone interested in it. I work during the day so I'll have to watch them on my next day off!

YIPPY YAY!!!!!!!!! congrats! merry christmas!and you are giving me hope for a merry christmas!mine are 19 weeks this week so hopefully only a few more weeks to go.I'm a bit older then 21 .my oldest son son is 21.given birth to 4 kids . BUT I'm sure I will be as proud as you are I can't wait! did you give them extra lighting or did you go natural!

I did give them more light in the coop, just because the coop is already in a really dark area and we're surrounded by trees, haha.

Ahh, so are we. The light is a great option as long as they do get their sleep. Here in the PNW the sun rises and sets so weird I felt I needed to add light too!
Isn't it fun to go into the coop and get gifts!!!
