Fish for ducks

Has anyone tried to have a pond in their backyard with fish? Or would the ducks just eat them all?

I introduced my six 21 day old Rouen ducks to the pond a couple days ago and now that is all they want.

Ducks being very diligent foragers, I would not be surprised if a large flock could take a small ponds stock way down, depending on size of fish. For the most part though, once the ecosystem has been shot by the loss of the smaller life, the bigger fish don't last long.

I love it when their lil tails are up in the air while looking under water.

I am going to have to get minnows for mine once it warms up. We have a mt river down below our home. Free fish.

We only have 4 ducks.. a mallard and 3 pekin. We don't plan on getting anymore but would like to have a pond one day. I wonder if it would be possible to have fish if there's a lot of coverage for fish.
