I cought some Chubb fish today and would like to give it to our girls for protine. Should it be cooked? Fillet or fish halves? Good & fat fish, they liked the few bits of meat we threw in...

Thanks, Tim

Yea fish is great, I just gave mine some minows the other day.
& no I didn't cook the minows so Im sure raw is fine.

I gave ours raw fish heads and guts after a fishing trip. They loved it. Lots of fun to play with too.

I am curious about this one as I have 7 ponds on my property and a couple of them are full of Mud Minnows...

These end up growing to be about 6 inches long and I could net thousands of them if I was so inclined...

I was hoping to use them as an additional source of protein by tossing in a handfull a day.

I would! I wonder whether they will react to wiggling minnows as they do things like meal worms....

Mine love canned mackerel, scraps from cleaning fish, and leftover cooked fish (as well as leftover cheese grits....)

I wonder if you would get fishy tasting eggs/meat if you fed them too much though? I am just going with the occasional fish head from a fishing trip.

If you feed enough fish frequently you will get fishy tasting eggs. You can get the same flavor from feeding too much of other things as well. Too many omega fatty acids causes it.
