She’s eating, drinking, running around, and pooping, but her vent has a tiny prolapse. I’ve got her greased up with coconut oil, but don’t really know what else to do. Suggestions?

She is pooping normally, not straining, and normal consistency. And no one is pecking her. She’s eaten a tiny bit of the coconut oil, so I’m hoping she’ll get back to normal. I’d actually be afraid to try to do much to push it back in because my hands shake so badly now that I’m approaching sixty (it’s a hereditary thing for the women in my family, not Parkinson’s, but we are all doing the hippy-hippy shake!). I’m keeping a close eye on her and if it gets worse, I’ll ask hubby to do it.Are poops normal? If she's having trouble pooping, and is straining, then giving her some coconut oil to eat may help loosen things up. Constipation can cause this when they are tiny. Freeze or refrigerate 1 tsp til firm, then break into small pieces and give to her, they usually like it. A bit of honey, or honey mixed with some white sugar on the prolapse may help with swelling. If you can gently press the prolapse in, and hold it, that may also encourage it to stay in. Again, very gently with all since she's so tiny. The biggest thing is to make sure it doesn't get pecked, that would make things much worse.
