Five Eggs a day?

I have 6 pullets and Im lucky to get 1 egg in 5 days ! I bought two more hens yesterday to try to get my other slackers " going " but I got 1 egg from the new girl yesterday and 1 from one of the slackers ! I think my ladies are going to need to hear the chicken soup talk !

I have 4 RIRs and 1 BR (used to be 2 BRs but I lost one to Marek's). They just started laying in the middle of January and most days, I get about 3-4 eggs. Recently however I have been getting mostly consecutive days of 5 eggs a day, and I was really surprised to get 6 yesterday! Pretty sure though that someone laid late in the night or around midnight and then was magically ready to go again around 6 PM when I put them up for the night. I am legally limited in the number I can have however, so I can't add more than that but my family doesn't eat eggs everyday anyway.

My husband would eat eggs every day, and I bake from scratch a lot. Also I would like the eggs to bribe the neighbors. I live next door to a lawyer!

Same here lol My dad said i could have 2 i now have 4 and am getting 8 more i cant get enough of them lol

I was going to have only 4 hens. Well now I have 6 and I have 6 chicks in a brooder. I want at least 15. Then I would have to build more coop if I got more. Now lets see. Where could I build on?????? LOL Jean
