No, it is too late to fix now. There is a very short window right after hatch that toes can be straightened by applying tape 'shoes', once the bones have hardened the only way would be to break the toes and reset and I have never heard of anyone having any luck with that. On hens, it is no big deal to have crinkled toes but on a cock it will inhibit his ability to breed.So I just picked up this handsome IBSBS and he’s a year old. Is it too late to fix his foot. Previous owner said he hatched this way and he kept taking off this splint. I want to give it a go but I don’t know if it’s worth the trouble since he is older.
