She's a 26 week old Columbian Wyandotte. We think she may have layed a few eggs, but has stopped. Two weeks ago we noticed her beak seems to be cracked, or flaking.

Do beaks molt?

Not sure what that is.

It is NOT normal. I'm also thinking maybe dietary. Has she been injured?

I hope someone can help. You could try a search on here.

Good luck!

No injuries that we know of. We only have 6 pullets and they all seem to get along pretty well, so I don't think it's a battle scar. Her behavior has been consistantly normal, she isn't at the top or bottom of the pecking order.

She has always been the most fond of treats, but she's as plump as any of her flock mates, so I think she's getting plenty of feed. I'm wondering if it might be somehting she's eating in our yard while ranging.
