Flap on Side of head not all red anymore. Feathers on head look strange.

Im very worried about my chicks. Peggys feathers on the top of her head look strange. Mugsys flap on side of head (I dont know what its called, was once all red and now its beige. Im hoing someone can help me help them. They both stopped laying about 2 weeks ago

Peggy is molting, the strange feathers are pin feathers - new growth, they are covered in a protective keratin sheath at this time, but that will eventually slough off and the feathers will emerge.

Mugsy's "flap" is her earlobe. If she's molting as well, the earlobe won't be as red since she's likely not in lay at the moment.

THANK You! Its crazy how much I love my chicks. Your Response, with others, have made me at Peace. I'm making salmon for the girls today. And will stop consistently asking them "are you ok?" Like I said, a little Crazy but feeling so much better with this advice
