Flashlight for darker egg candling

I know it's very expensive but man I do love mine. Like I said I did buy the rechargeable batteries. I will look it up and send you the info on were I got mine at. I bought 4 batteries so I could swap them out without having to wait for the one set to charge to use the flashlight.

I use my flashlight for more then just candling eggs. So to me it's worth the money spent. If you want something for just candling then you could probably find something a little cheaper.

That candler is not too much more than the Surefire at Lowe's! I'm going to see about the slide projector and then decide what to do.

I love my surfire, order one online and it will be great for egg candling and daily carry. Mine is in my pocket right now. It does brown eggs pretty well actually. What you want to use is a runtime high output flashlight, with a good throw. A projector would fit this bill very well if you have one.

A wide beam light with a big face that isn't directed won't go through the egg very well as most will be lost on the edges. Have to be careful with flashlights that rate their stuff with crazy high numbers or with multiple LED's because those things are often a play on stats and they rate peak output which is right when the current starts to flow, or add together the max output from each bulb... when run time is what you really see and where max load isn't what they are run at.

The newest latest and greatest in egg candle adventures is the EagleTac T10C2 flahlight, but it's still in the testing process of durability for daily carry.

With my eggs, I wait until day 10 or so and then I use a heat light, 150 watt with metal cover (my brooder light) in a small box. The box lies on its side to let the heat out, the light with cover is placed in so that the light is pointed upward, and I cut a small hole in the top side about 1-1/12 inch across shaped like a football. It worked well with my brown eggs. I couldn't see the tiny details but could see blood rings, any movement, air sac, etc. Basically, whether it was a viable egg or not. It didn't cost me anything because I had all the stuff anyway.

When looking for LED flashlights the industry standard will be shown as the FL-1 Standard Rating on the package. If it does not show the FL-1 standard, then don't believe it when they say anything about Lumens. its false advertising or they don't want to show the true output. Here's a link to Flashlight reviews below. More bulbs doesn't mean more light. The Quality and clarity of the lens also has to do with brightness.
