Flat-sided and Broken Eggs

For over a week I got no eggs out of my Americauna, or so I thought. Then I started seeing them per her usual every other day schedule. However, they were flattened or broken in on one side. Sometimes I only found shell or yolk remnants as they had been eaten. I’m thinking she is eating them. However, the unbroken ones are flattened on one side. Could the shell be too thin to support its weight? Could the vent have an obstruction flattening the egg as it comes out? Are they breaking and that is why she is eating them? Any ideas would be appreciated.

The egg shell texture indicates something going on with her shell gland. You can try to give her more calcium but it takes time for it to fix itself.

I've had this happen to one of my hens. It took her over a month to fix itself.
