Fleas

I have some chickens with very bad fleas. What should I do? I did bathe today, picked off what I could and put aquaphor over the areas to attempt to suffocate.
 
I'm pretty sure that you could probably use some of the blue Dawn dish washing liquid. They used it on wild bird's after the oil spill, and it was safe for them. Also I used to have a Persian cat that I showed, and that's what I used to bath him for the cat show. It killed the fleas.

Yes I believe they are stick fleas. :( thank you for the website. I will follow that treatment. Its mostly on my show cock who is in his own pen. But I have seen a few on my girls.
 
Best of luck to you, I understand they can be hard to get rid of. I also read in another place, they suggested that if you clean out bedding from the coop or run you should burn it or it will just move the fleas to wherever you put it.
