I rescued 2 hens (3years old- I was told) on Friday. Today I was checking them out and they both have what appears to be fleas all over their waddles/combs/earlobes, even in the sparse feathers around their face.
I checked the rest of their bodies- I don't see any mites/lice. Poop looks normal. They seem to eat/drink normal. No sneezing or nasal discharge
I dusted them with 7powder. I didn't even know birds could get fleas.
Advice?? Thanks.
Barred rock and a welsummer(?)-both have laid fairly normal looking eggs, got a soft egg one day and the BR eggs seem brittle/thin shelled- but maybe that's from the stress of rehoming?
