You can find standards of perfection there. You can also join for $20 a year

I don't know about perfection but she doesn't seem to have any immediately disqualifying qualities.

She weighs 7lbs .2 ounces, her ears are a little more than 4 inches in length, her fur is dense with good rollback and (from what I can measure) about 1 1/4 inchs. Her fur color seems about perfect...

but how do you judge body shape... I have no clue how to do that...

Edited because I am an idiot.

Thi is the website that ARBA refers you to. I would email them, or an ARBA judge for that breeds standard of perfection. SOP is what lists out what the head, body, fur, weight, etc. should be for the breed.

I know I almost missed it, its at the very bottom of the list, Standard Chinchilla, its there that's how I got found the standard.

I would google to find Chin breeders in your area so you can go get a look at them and learn how to judge your breed. They also may be able to tell you if she has anything she is lacking. I have a Cal doe that needs some work on her hindquarters so I got a buck that has a nice type but he excells on his hindquarters to improve her faults. Good luck with your bun!

Standard Chinchillas are the smallest Chins. Sr does should be between 5 1/2 and 7 1/2. If she's older than 2 years and has never had a litter, I wouldn't risk trying to breed her. Older does that have never had a litter tend to either not have anything or have many complications.

Thats the problem, I actually started out the search looking for a good buck to breed her with but there just don't seem to be any officail standard chinchilla breeders in this area...there are a hand full of american and gaint breeders but no standards with in reach...

I think it is a "giant american chin" ive seen them at a local breeder in central coast ca.its a cross of flemish and american chinchilla.
