Hello Group,
I am new here . I recently jumped into breeding meat mutt bunnies and some flemish .
I do not show and my rabbits are not pedigree.
I have a question and was wondering if anyone could help me .
I have a harlequin mutt Doe when I got her she was pregnant to a unknown buck. She had 8 kits 4 chestnut , 4 poorly marked harlequin.
I then bred her to my light grey flemish buck ( possibly a chinchilla not a FG ?) expecting harlequin, actually magpie.
I ended up with 6 obvious chestnut , 1 I'm not sure what and 1 poorly marked harlequin. ( these kits are only 3 days).
I bred the same buck to my sandy FG and got 5 chestnuts , 5 light grey and 2 ghost chins .
Can someone explain these adults and their genetics to me ?

The chinchilla gene blocks yellow colors from being expressed so that’s why your expected harlequins are magpies. Magpies have the ej gene and Cchd gene. Harlequins only have ej gene.
