I live in Phoenix and it will be getting hot in the next week or two. I had a dirt floor in my run but just changed to sand last weekend. I heard that sand kept flies away but I still have a lot of lies around.

Any thoughts/ideas? Maybe my sand needs to be deeper? Or is it just a part of having poo in the yard.i clean it every day. Thanks for your opinions!

Try putting down more sand and picking up poop around 11 am and 4 pm so you get out right before it really starts to heat up and before it starts to cool down. Also, if you scatter feed in the yard, try to do it early in the morning so that they eat it before the flies come out and NOT at night so no other animals try to get at it such as rats.
