FLIES!!!! what do I do to decrease the amount of flies?

My husband was home with the kids yesterday and he left the door open for a bit. Before chickens I also loved to do this on a nice day however... these days... the flies pour into the house if you leave it open for 5 minutes!
I swatted 12 and there are still a bunch driving me nuts!
Solutions please!!!!

I clean my coops every Sunday and use Diatomaceous earth too and still the flies are crazy!

I get really annoyed by the flies to, although I probably don't have as many and also, I really don't have a solution, I just leave them alone cuz the chickens, especially my blue/tan banty pullet Ziva, enjoy chasing them around the coop, which keeps them VERY busy. Lol

I hang Vanilla scented Christmas tree car fresheners. I have one in my coop. I hang them in the trees around my run. Plus have one at my back door. Its amazing how it really cuts down on the flies. Who knew flies love poop, but hate vanilla!!
I buy them from the dollar store.
I also have a dropping board under my roosts and clean it every morning.

I hang fly traps away from where I sit in the yard. They get full amazingly quickly. Yuk!

Amazingly since we gotten chickens our flies have vanished. I didnt know think about them attracting them. We have cattle that makes flies horrible we were battling one inside the house for two months, fly traps, swatting, spray, it took a long time. I finally dont have any flies and i know my hens love eating them that could be the ultimate help.

Fly traps around the chicken coop for me work really well. Almost all the flies are gone after 2 weeks.

If you are not against pesticides, hang No Pest Strips in the coop, they work wonders...

I have also found that if I spray just the immediate area around the door with Yard Guard it creates a small buffer zone and less bugs get in the house...
