Flies

I used lavendar and and lemongrass. I would have used basil but I was out. :p

We had a fly issue, and came across one this rather weird but great way to keep them away. It worked.
Get a large Ziplock, gallon size (freezer bags are stronger) and fill with water. Hang in the offensive area. Apparently the flies are confused by the refracted light and will steer clear.🤪

I spray mine in the morning after I let them out and leave both doors plus their window open during the day to air it out. When they go in at night no strong smell and no flies.
Do you spray the chickens directly? I leave their doors open all day to let some air through and that's when they seem to get bad.

Diatomaceous earth makes a great natural fly repellent around the yard and especially on the farm. Moisture and smell often go hand in hand, so DE is a great choice when trying to deodorize and dry these places out. Diatomaceous earth is effective because it absorbs moisture and deodorizes an area.

It's also wonderful for clearing out any bug issues as it will kill mites and fleas and the like.
