Fly predators are a good suggestion, especially if you can get them over to your neighbors. In the mean time, I would set out a couple of the fly traps that are a jar or bag with water in them. Some are disposable and some you dump when they're full. They work great to collect a lot of flies. They come with a lure, but as more flies get caught, they work even better. They're stinky, so we put them away from the house. They were really helpful when we had neighbors with horses and other livestock near our fence line and a lot of flies came over here.
I've never had much luck with the sticky strips. I've never tried Sherry's apple juice trap, but that sounds like a great idea, especially in the house. It sounds like a nice alternative outside, too.
