I got my ducklings 3 weeks ago and they are almost 4 weeks. I’m just wondering if young ducklings can flirt with each other. I sometimes catch them flirting. For example I take them on a swim and they swim under water with their necked stretched. According to this website I read that’s flirting. They are also very cuddly with each other. Do you think they are flirting? If they are flirting does that mean one is a male and one is a female?

Doesn’t mean either of those, they swim under water because they love it and they cuddle because they are flock animals and they need each other. You may have drake and female you’ll know that in about a week or two females quack drakes peep longer and when they do get their voices they sound very similar to a frog.

When mine get excited they'll stretch there neck on the water, and dive under, pop back up and repeat. You're not going to be seeing flirtatious behavior this early on.
