My hen is doing this too!
She won't sit on golf bals- any eggs left in the boxes? she'll sit in whatever box a real egg is in all night and into the morning-puffing and growling. She gets off and gets back on at night and repaet. I took the eggs away..perhaps I can give her some and if she starts sitting I can put fresh fertile ones under her?
She DOES look like a pancake in the nest but she ONLY sits if there is REAL eggs in the nest...and gets out in the afternoon until night again. Is she looking for an excuse for a warmer place to stay?
