I candled the chicken eggs today and some seem to me like dead. I need space in the incubator for the next batch, but I need a double check to make sure these are really dead. Can I do a float test on day 10 on chicken eggs and what is supposed to happen?

I may be wrong but I would only do float tests prior to setting and again at about day 23.
The first is to see how old the egg is. The second is to see if there is movement.
Persons who are more hands on in incubation may contradict me but I don't know what a 10 day float test will tell you. I don't think the embryo is developed enough at that point to bob around as it moves in the shell.
