Float test pic at day 24. Viable?

Having never "float tested" eggs I can't help but wonder what you're testing for? Also day 24 of what?

Well, day 21 for my ameraucanas was 5/31. I've had 7 hatch, but no action since with these. Haven't heard any peeping, no pips and no rocking (unless they're doing it when I'm not looking). So, I saw in the sticky notes about the float test to decide whether to toss them or go longer. Going by the instructions, they all look good to me, but I'm no expert. Pretty sure 1 of them moved a little, so I marked that one. I did the test quickly & carefully in 100 degree water. And, NO, I didn't boil them! LOL! The pan just makes it look that way.

Well, apparently the power was off in the middle of the night for about 1 1/2 hours, so that might have done them in anyways. My son (who is NOT a chicken person) said the temp dropped down into the 70's before it came back on. Ugh! And he didn't even look at the other incubator that has my dominiques and mini appleyards.

Guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

one time i did a float test a after 21 days and i guess the float test encouraged the chick to wanna come out, and the chick had not absorbed the yolk in it's belly completely, and it died

I think if you had them out, candle and see if you see any sort of movement. I didn't see a lot but i saw some in mine. Just their little beaks basically
