Floating Duck house

I'm building one too! I bought huge styrofoam pieces at Hobby Lobby and need to figure out what to use for the base. What is your base made of on top of the styrofoam and how well does it float?

We finally moved toe ducks from their coop with a swimming pool to the pond! They were very scared at first going back to their original coop but once we put all 4 in the water at the same time they are having so much fun playing! We got our floating duck house built (not very pretty but it's a work in progress)!

The ducks don't want anything to do with the house. Not sure what to do with them tonight!

Get them somewhere safe while you develop Plan B.

Giving them treats in a new space helps - it has with mine.

And take into careful consideration most predators will swim to get duck dinner and if your ducks didn't go into that house which really isn't safe then most likely they slept on the edge of the pond which is not safe at all. I hope you woke up this morning to all your ducks. Some ducks like Mallards can fly and possibly get away from a predator attack most domestics can't once they reach adulthood.

Well, our ducks went right back into the coop they have been in for the last few weeks. It's actually a large Dog Run with concrete bottoms for easy cleaning, we put shavings in it and lined with chicken wire. They have a pool in their too so I guess they just feel safe in there. Maybe we will just keep putting them up at night.

Oh wow! Now I'm jealous. Now I'm thinking my ducks need a floating house for when we move, haha! Looks like I'm gonna have to google floating duck houses, myself.
