I brought home my 5 girls last week. 3 brown pullets, a 2 year old Buff laced Wyandotte and a 18 week old Ayam Cemani. They all came from the same pen on a large farm.

the 3 browns have laid everyday and seem happy as Larry. The Wyandotte seems somewhat withdrawn and has laid no eggs, and the Ayam Cemani seems to be the bottom of the pecking order?

would love some advise regarding the Wyandotte? I want to make sure she is happy!

Thanks

It's only been a week. They need time to acclimate.
If these 5 random girls were pulled out of a larger flock the Wyandotte may have had a friend that didn't come along.
The browns all being 'happy' may be because they are all "alike" and find security in that. The AC being at the bottom of the pecking order is likely due to her age and different appearance.
Give everyone lots of space and lots of things to scratch around in, fly up on and perch, a dust bathing area and a place they can sun bath, lots of fresh food and water and they will soon enough form a cohesive flock.

Hello again,

So the Ayam Cemani (Priscilla) is how interacting a bit more with the browns. All are eating and drinking as they should. The browns are laying everyday and love their veg. However, my Wyandotte is still quite withdrawn. She would prefer to stay inside the coop at all times. I keep lifting her outside and locking her out for a few hours.. is this the right thing to do? Or should I let her stay inside all day?? Really appreciate the advice! Thanks, Coco x
