Flock block Instructions

Hi again, I recently bought a flock block for chickens and I was wondering how I like feeed it to them. Do I put it out and just leave it until its gone or do i put it out for like an hour a day. Just need some guidance thanks

I put mine out until it is gone but my flock will peck and eat one block throughout the winter. If they would eat it all in a month, I would remove it.

It's a treat so best to feed them in moderation. If they're not picking at it too much, then you can probably leave it in, but if they're eating it instead of their regular feed, I would only give them limited access to it.

I place mine in a rubber bowl so it's easier to move around, if needed, then I cover it with a bucket or flower pot if it seems they're eating too much at one time.

I have two French Marans. I bought a 30 dollar flock block from Amazon. It is like a cement block and my chickens aren't able to get a seed loose. I pounded on it with a heavy shovel and it just bounced off. What is the problem?

Link to the product or a photo? They're meant to be hard so it takes the chickens a long time to whittle it down, but not THAT hard.

Maybe it is like a piñata, can you give the hens a mallet and see if they take turns whacking it?
