Flock changes - Advice needed!

It would be nice to get an adult female for daisy they will have a few days of getting to know each other but then should be best friends.

Keep the babies separate from her till they are around 3 to 4 weeks and then introduce them as they free range. It won't take long for Daisy to accept them because she won't like being alone. You definitely can do look no touch during the first 3 weeks.

This is all so much more complicated than I imagined :-( I will keep you all posted on what I ultimately do with our new babies, Donald, and Miss Daisy! Yes, I ordered 3 sexed females of 3 different breeds from Metzer Farms. I feel awful, and I know I should keep Donald, but I just want to eliminate the entire mating issue. I'm having to creatively explain all these behaviors to my young kids, and they still get very upset when it looks like he's hurting her. Having a drake adds a layer of complication to our duck-owning experience that we were not really prepared for (we all thought Donald was female for quite awhile).

Totally understand about having to explain to the children what their cute little ducks are doing to each other.
I once had to explain the same thing to my mother in law, awkward! I thought it was pretty obvious but clearly went right over her head and she thought they were trying to drown each other, lol.
Just a heads up, even an all female flock can still try and 'mate' with each other. When we had a pair of females they would jump on each other in their kiddie pool, I was quite confused at first.
